I am sure there is a million threads on this but i am yet again at a point where i am trying to decide between 40 or 9 for EDC ? It will be either on of my G19's or G23 opinions please .

9mm for every day civilian carry. Particularly in the Glock platform.

Unless you are given .40 S&W ammo, I suggest you go with 9mm. You carry more ammo in the same size pistol, softer recoil impulse, and it's cheaper. Both are good calibers. Terminal ballistics are very similar between the major service calibers, with better intermediate barrier penetration going to the larger bullets. The following is a link by DocGKR on the subject:

I think either represents a viable choice. Where I give 9mm the edge is the ease of shooting and availability of cheap practice ammo.

In .40 however I'd go with M&P over Glock.
