There pieces were buried in a box of nails, screws and differently sized bolts I got at a yard sale.
I really have no clue what they are but something tells me they might be for a MG. Any help on IDing the pieces would be wonderful.

PS: Let me know if I should melt these down and bury the evidence!

The two on the right look like they could be barrel trunions of some sort. They look like the ones on M240s. You don't have enough there to really worry about. It's not like you have an MG receiver and a full-on fire control group.

The piece at the top that looks like a spark plug looks like the gas regulator for an M240 or M249. I would say that yes, you probably ran accross some loose MG parts. I can't definitively identify any of the other parts in the picture, but you basically have metal scrap that once belonged to a belt fed. Kind of a neat find to say the least.

The cylindrical stainless steel chess-piece-lookin thing is a gas regulator for an M240. The rest of the pieces look like they're also for that gun but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure there's someone out there with a 240 or FN MAG-58 that wouldn't mind having them.

Thanks for the information guys!
I guess I'll hang onto them for the fun of it. It's just one more thing to add to the collection.

The piston is part of the gas regulator for the M240/249.

The two threaded pieces are part of the barrel assembly for an M240 series weapon.

The item to the left of the gas regulator appears to be the locking latch for the barrel assembly.
