We are looking at putting a course or two into California for 2012. One in NorCal and the other in SoCal.

Now that we have some holes in the schedule we can take a closer look at the left coast.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to teach students the tactics, techniques and procedures to secure the family home and conduct close personal protection of family members during a time of crisis either at home or away.

Crisis may take the form of many things including home invasion or break-in where family members or assets are vulnerable and are exposed to extreme risk. Situations like these require very specific counter measures to be applied, using a kinetic, or non-kinetic, lethal or less-than-lethal, lawful force response in order to resolve them quickly and decisively.

In today’s society we are more exposed to the criminal entities that thrive on the vulnerable and target the weak in the classic scenario of predator v’s prey. This course will delve into the predator mindset and explore how criminals stalk, select and prosecute their targets. We will train you how to harden yourself and family members to become a super predator in order to limit the criminal attack and be ready should an attack occur. This course will include specific body protection drills used in executive protection to cover and evacuate family members while allowing for a lethal kinetic or non-kinetic lawful force response.

COURSE OUTLINE: Home Defense
During this portion of the training students will learn methods of approaching, entering and clearing the home or structure as a single and as part of a two man element.

This module will cover the following:

Learning objectives:

Selecting the correct approach.
External movement and clearance methods.
Offensive and Defensive methods of internal clearing.
Center-fed and corner-fed rooms.
Hallways and intersections.
Negotiating Stairwells.
Security of family members
Advanced Surgical Shooting Techniques
Force on Force scenarios

COURSE OUTLINE: Personal Protection
During this portion of the course students will receive lessons on how to recognise and react to criminal threats and active shooters. Students will be taught how to move tactically while in control of family members during high stress situations and apply the use of force continuum in order to select the appropriate force response to specific situations.

This module of training will cover the following:

Learning Objectives:

Threat recognition,
React to contact,
Close quarters fighting techniques,
Cover and evacuation drills,
Tactical movement while in control of family members,
Deployment of the handgun while in control of family members,
Advanced weapons manipulations while in control of family members,
Applying the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care in a Tactical pre-hospital setting,
Tactical medical kits and contents,
Conducting rapid trauma assessments of casualties,
Initiating life saving interventions within a tactical environment.

Course Duration:
3-Days (30hrs)

Texas and the Pacific Northwest is definitely on my agenda. Stay tuned to our many outlets (FB, M4C, and Website) as to what's coming up. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to host us at their local shooting club, feel to contact us. I'm already working leads but if there's a customer demand, we'll be sure to go.

Jason,

We spoke about getting some barricades made up for the Alaska courses and I agreed to help the project out. I emailed Giselle a while back (and just today) about specifics of what you want them to look like. Can you provide me any more detail and how many you would like and I can get on it. If they need to look like something seen in the Magpul Dynamics videos, I can do that as well...

Thanks

I used to live in Seattle for 11 years. I still miss living there, particularly the variety of outdoor activities available there. That and I had my CCW permit there and suppressors legal in WA.

I originally signed up for the Redback One basic carbine class scheduled for Reno, NV in October, so Seattle or Portland in the fall would be great! I shot you and Carlo an email regarding potential training dates in the September - December timeframe, particularly for the Pacific Northwest. Carlo replied that he could use some help scouting out potential training sites in Seattle and Portland. I still have some friends that live in that area. I'll reach out to them and see if there are some potential training sites. I only shot pistol when I lived there, so I mostly shot at indoor ranges.

Looking forward to great year of training in 2012!

I am interested in running training in the NE. We ran one course last year in Okanagan for the Sheriff's Office.

I would like to engage the boys at Ft Lewis and put on some Mil training as well as some Open Enrollment courses.

If you know of a good range that is relatively close to SeaTac let me know and we'll see what we can do.

There's the Cascade Rifle & Pistol Club in Ravensdale/Maple Valley, WA. It's southeast of Seattle. Not too sure how far away from SeaTac. I've never been there and didn't know of it when I lived there, but I got some positive feedback from a couple of WA residents.

I exchanged a few emails with Carlo about that facility and what capabilities that you were looking for. However, my notes are in my office. Let me know if you'd like me to forward what information that I was able to get.

I would also be very interested in a class in WA. A couple other M4C members have expressed interest as well.

I second CSF, it's 1hr drive away from SeaTac at the most. Here's their website: http://cascadeshootingfacilities.org/index.html. I've had carbine training there before and it's a descent range as long as it doesn't rain, since the grounds are uncovered dirt.

Friggin awesome. I was looking through the course offerings and stuff and that course looks awesome. Not just basic HD but a lot of other stuff in there that would be valuable to anyone. I know a lot of courses have a minimum/required list of kit and ammo, anything like that for this one? I'm hoping to start prepping now in the event that my schedule works out.

Can anyone recommend a good pistol/carbine or other personal defense/tactical course(s) in the Las Vegas Valley area??? I have been online looking and I've seen some stuff out there, but it's hard to truly know where the best place to spend my money is. We hope to have you attend, it's going to be an awesome course! Check out the full course thread which includes a description and weapons/ equipment list. RB1 Home Defense and Personal Protection (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?p=1264089)

Awesome, thanks. As long as the Army doesn't own me that weekend, I should be good to go.

The preferred platform is going to be a CA compliant M4. We're looking into ranges in NV for a possible course next year.

Gotcha. I bet you would get some great feedback if you put feelers out there for a course (or courses) in Southern Nevada. 702Shooters.com would probably be a good place for that. Boulder City in particular hosts some cool local 3 gun competitions, etc. I believe Lock N Load Gunstore down in Henderson hosted some sort of tactical course a little while back, but they don't have any plans in the works currently that I'm aware of. Not a big fan of CA compliant M4 platform. 10 rounds max capacity and the inability to drop a mag out without the use of a dummy round or some other device just kills it for me...

Definitely, we plan to do something in the future, we've had training in NV before and it's been a location that we plan to go back to. We'll consider the locations you mentioned, thanks for the info. If you'd like to host us out there, send an email to giselle@redbackone.com to get something going for next year.

Will the Advanced Hostage Rescue course be for Civs or LE/MIL only?

Also, I will be contacting you guys as soon as I can confirm a range down here in Houston...

Our Advanced Hostage Rescue Course is Restricted and only for credentialed Law Enforcement Officers and Active Duty Military personnel that are assigned to a tactical entry team or conduct CQB as part of their task matrix.

All students must be formally trained in CQB prior to attending this course. All credentials including DD214's must be submitted and will be vetted prior to enrollment on this course.

We are planning an Open Enrollment A-HR to be held in KY later this year. If anyone is interested in attending and would like to receive an information packet please contact us.

Yes, I realized the part that you bolded after I reviewed your website once again...forgot to edit my post.

I would be interested in the OE A-HR class that you plan for later this year...what's the best way to get the packet?

I think that I might have bum-drummed some folks by calling it an Open Enrollment course.

This will make things a little more clear. We are going to conduct an Advanced Hostage Rescue Course later this year. That course will be for Military & Law Enforcement personnel only. The course will be open to all Military Units and LE Agencies that are mandated to conduct asset recovery, rescues, or CQB as part of their task matrix.

The course is likely to be held at the Wendell Ford Training Facility in Greenville, KY and likely to be conducted in Oct 2012. As we finalize admin and logistics we will announce the course via the webpage and FB page. We will also invite agencies from surrounding jurisdictions to attend.

We will not be conducting this course for Civilian shooters. If you are LE or Mil and meet the requirements, we will be happy to send an info packet to you.

Sorry if there was any confusion.
