First custom AR build

Pretty excited about this one! It turned out nicer than I imagined.

I'm a FAL builder and this is my first custom AR build. This is the site that got me going! The resources available here influenced the parts used. Heres the specs:

LMT upper
Blackwell Industries lower
CMMG mid length 1-7 CR 4150 bbl.
Larue 12.0 and low profile gas block
Colt M16 bolt and carrier
RRA two stage trigger
Troy medieval muzzle device
Troy flip ups
Magpul MIAD

Everything fit together like a glove and shes tight as a drum. The next is optics (after Christmas ;) ). Here's a snapshot of the AR next to my FN FAL paratrooper.

Very nice! That rifle would look even sweeter with a black LMT SOPMOD adjustable stock!

What kind of optics you looking to get?

Finally had an opportunity to take this rifle out last Saturday. Ended up with a Trijicon TA31F for optics. I'd been lusting after an ACOG for a long time now and am NOT disappointed in the purchase. Also swapped out the fixed stock for a CMMG 5 position milspec unit.

Was shooting Radway Green SS109 milsurp. This ammo had no problem cycling the mid length. I had read somewhere where this was a concern. The rifle had no trouble.

The final result :] in a 10 round group. (Disclaimer. Shooter had not eaten breakfast, consumed a full throttle energy drink and was smoking Kool cigarettes)

All in all the combo works great. Looking forward to trying some match ammo.
