View Full Version : Help with an SPR
This will be my first build, I would like recommendations on what to use for components. Also If people could post Pics of their SPR's, I would greatly appreciate it.
I would like to use an 18" Barrel. Mid-Length Gas system. Also, I am thinking of using a suppressor
If Grant from G&R Tactical doesn't see this post, I would start my research with a phone call to him: 330-343-2800. He will give you some very good advice on what will meet your needs, as well as your budget.
As far as parts go, there's plenty to choose from. Decide on what Mod you want to build and go from there.
1. The upper depends on what you want VLTOR, CMT, WOA, Colt
2. Barrel, there are plenty of mid length SPR barrels to choose from (Noveske, WOA, Douglas, Shilen etc.
3. BCG, Grant has the BCM w/propely staked key
4. Gas Buster charging handle
5 . Free float rail, depends Mod0 or Mod1? Mod 0 PRI is the only option + ARMS PEQ Rail, Mod 1 KAC is the correct one but Larue, DD etc are all good.
6. KAC gas block or PRI FUFS/GB again Mod 1 or 0
7. Suppressor..OPS INC 12th since the barrel momst likely is contoure to accept the brake and collar.
8. Optics...Leupold MRT 3-9X36 or 3.5-10 M3
I prefer the Mod 1, here's a pic of a Mod 0 I had.

OPS Inc...I got mine from ADCO....The rail is 18" long, The handguard is 12.5
Thanks for the help and info.
I got that backwards in my last post. I meant how long were the handguards. I just called them rails. Thanks for clearing that up.:D
