Cursory search turned up nothing.
Howe & Howe Ripsaw??
http://www.howeandhowetechnologies.com/vehicles.php?prod=ripsaw
Looks like the vehicle the army is trying out. It's been on some covers of a few mags I believe. There was show on discovery about it and the inventors a while back. I haven't seen it in a while.
Tagged for details! Almost looks like a movie car to me... Very cool.
^"ripsaw" yea that's what I was thinking.
Cursory search turned up nothing.
I also believe that to be a H&H Ripsaw...

That's what I thought too :agree:
Soooooo. Cool and all...
What sort of role is this thing supposed to fill? Something like DPV replacement?
I have been following that thing for a couple years now. Heres an early video of it in action back when it was a prototype

Daddy like!!!! I will just add that to the list of shit I want but will NEVER have. Long ****ing list
i just noticed that there are two on the same truck.
thats some expensive hardware.
Whatever it is, it looks bad a$$!
Source from General Dynamics who worked on this says it performed well in preliminary testing and trials as a shell but performance expectations once loaded and armored up were unrealistic.
The site said they were going to use it in a movie. This might be en route to the set.
i'll taking one in neon yellow.....
Make mine solar yellow....... that way it matches the Jeep.

$500,000? If they just want an unmanned vehicle to drive up front and soak up pressure plate IEDs a Hilux would be a lot cheaper. Looks like it could hold more too.
I'm waiting on them to put a main gun and coax MG on it and we'll have a unmanned MBT..... Because then, at lets say even 750K that's still WAY cheaper than an Abrams and we could go all Soviet and have more tanks than troops.....
Have to have some kinda auto loader for the main gun, and maybe just a M134 for 3 or 4k rounds linked.

wow, that's cool to see
Looks pretty cool. I guess the ripsaw project is continuing, or being used in a film.
Nice SHTF vehicle. Too bad its $500k.

I'm a little bit of a geek sometimes. It would be neat if we got those for the Army but I think that may be what they are using in the new G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie as Cobra's HISS Tank.

That would make a GREAT HISS!

COOOOOL!!!!! I have never seen anything like that, but I hope it was made to use by artillery, although I doubt it.
Not sure how this fits into the whole "where are they going / movie" mystery, but the quadcon on that trailer is definitely Army property.

Batman's new color is Desert Tan.
Almost looks like a tiny 88 from the rear.. kind of
want!

Wonder how many people didn't notice the load as he drove by?
Nice photo's.
Firstly, very cool pic...thanks OP.
Secondly, while the M1A2 is without peer as a main battle tank (MBT), it is probably the last of it's kind. I'm sure it will exist for awhile, and we'll see modifications and enhancements, but the H&H Ripsaw could be the future.
Consider that some of the new technology armor...

combined with stealth technology...

It will be interesting to watch.

After visiting the website, I really WANT to start crafting anything out in the garage...very cool shit and if I had the flow...well then I would prob just build my own
I never liked their track design myself, they never looked at anything else anyone had done. Their track design is waay too complicated for what it is.

This makes alot of sense.
About 5(+/-) years ago they brought a prototype to the local snowmobile show/grassdrags here in NH in a much more lightweight/streamlined form with not much more than a big V-8 and drivers seat with what looks like from the picture about the same chassis size and geometry. The thing was crazy, and had some serious speed. But that was in a very different form, and I can't imagine it retaining nearly the maneuverability or speed that the project had initially, and it would appear from the updated YouTube videos it is MUCH slower and more cumbersome(to be expected with that much added weight).
Although it is hard to argue with the cool factor of glorified garage tinkerers having a shot at a .gov contract...
Whatever happened to the ford jltv?

Ford backed out. I like the General Dynamics/AM General proto the best personally. (assuming the whole program doesn't get flattened by the budget hammer)

I like that one best out of the 3 but I liked the ford one best but when I search I can't find pics of the one I saw. Just pics of the different variants like your pic. The one in mine looks like the general dynamics one.
Ford should introduce an all-new Bronco to compete with the Jeep JK.
The Israelis and Egyptians produce the JK under license for military use. (Jeep J8)
Ford could get a piece of that
