Will do a range report when it gets warm enough to.

I've tossed the idea of a .45 acp revolver around more than once. I like the Thunder Ranch editions Smith had a while back. Definitely let us know how that bad boy shoots.

Looks really nice,Pat. I'm going back and shooting my wheelguns more and more these days. Just plain fun.Let us know how she does.:)

I'd love to pick up a vanilla .45ACP revolver. I really like the idea and already use the ammo.

I just can't stand the JM crap all over the gun. I once heard another shooter liken shooting a JM gun to making love to a woman with some other guys name tattooed on her thigh. ;)

I wish S&W still sold the vanilla 625s. The OOP guns are getting harder and more expensive to find.

I had a 625 but sold it due to the need for moon clips.

That said it's an outstanding revolver and you can't go wrong owning one.

That is why I like it the ability to reload twice as fast. Its mostly going to be a competition gun, however if I had to carry a revolver in real life it would be a 625 in 45 acp.

Nice revolver, I have always been a big fan of the 625 (mine is in .45 Colt). I also like the 625's predecessor, the Model 1955.

Did you switch out the grips? I was under the impression the JMs all came with the rounded off wood stocks.

The previous owner switched the grips because he did not like the feel of them. I agree. I wish they were there for collectability however.

Great looking wheel gun! The 625 is on my short list of handguns to buy. Looking forward to the range report.

My 625 is my favorite wheelgun. I had a 5" but sold it and have regretted it ever since and still have a 4" that I use for IDPA. I have the Miculek grips on mine. You can actually buffer down the finger grooves on those grips to resemble the looks of the Miculek's and they are nice for shooting.

Wow...both nice revolvers! I've got a 629 and would love to find a 625 in .45 Colt... bummer that ya can't get to the range.

I took my 625 .45 acp out today and shot some 6 shot groups in single action at 25 yards and I shot a department pistol qualification course in double action. The trigger on this gun was worked over by the previous owner and its sweet. Very happy with my purchase.

I packed one of those for two years back in the 90's. I still kick myself for getting rid of it. The number one fun thing I did with it was pick up a bunch of X-ring rubber bullets. I could practice right in my house.

As stated elsewhere I am in love with 45 ACP revolvers. Looks like you got a keeper.

Great gun but you really have to give the JM Stocks a chance. They do feel wierd at first but they really are awsome. Far better for CCW than the Hogue rubber. My 681PC wore them On-Duty back in the burbs and still wears them to this day.

I am looking for a 625-10 in 45 acp, I believe they only made around 800 of them. I may have to go with another model revolver in 45 acp. I sure do like the idea of a wheel gun in 45 though

I once passed on a 625 with 3" barrel. If I ever see one again ...

I have a 625 Mountain Gun in .45 ACP and it's a great general purpose revolver. Mine gets used a ton as a hunting revolver here in Texas. Loaded with either a premium 230 +P JHP (the gun loves the Federal HST load) or a 240-255 cast SWC in Auto Rim brass over a healthy charge of Unique, it's a great game killer at reasonable ranges. The SWC loads will shoot through everything here and I've yet to recover one.

Enjoy that great revolver, Pat.

I have a few boxes of +P HST 230 grain ammo that did not run well in my 1911's that I have a home for now. I fired some the other day and the recoil felt a bit more brisk like a Nframe should.

IIRC 2 45ACP loaded moonclips fit stacked in a standard N-Frame speedloader pouch.

Shot a USPSA match with it on 3-4-12. I got 6th overall out of 14 shooters. There was no other revolver shooters so I got first and last in my division.
