The TRAVIS HALEY "SKIMMER" Enhanced Carry Trigger System
A friend of mine recommended that I try this trigger. It’s a good friend whom I trust so I did. When I first got the trigger I was a bit let down because they advertised it as a 1911 trigger feel in a Glock. The pre travel was greatly reduced and it broke cleanly but it did not feel like a crisp 1911 trigger. That being said it did feel better than any Glock trigger I have tried in the past. I used to run a stock Glock trigger with a 4.5 pound factory connector installed. I have also tried my friend’s custom Glock triggers on their competition guns. I have felt triggers that were lighter but that were mushy or ones that felt more like a short DA pull than a single action like I like. Anyway back to the Skimmer. I did compare it side by side with my Gen 4 Glock 17 with a stock trigger with the 4.5 pound connector installed. Pull weight felt similar as it should because the skimmer is advertised at 4.5 pounds. However the Skimmer trigger (which I installed in my Gen 3 Glock 17) had a much cleaner break with much less pre travel. The reset was also very positive. All the parts on the Skimmer appear to be polished to a mirror shine.
The test was going to be in firing it. Unfortunately we are having a very cold winter so my first opportunity to shoot it was going to be at an indoor IDPA match which was last Sunday. Boy was I happy with this trigger. Sometimes you can’t appreciate a trigger until you are actually using it in live fire under the pressure of a timer. This thing is awesome. It made it easy to shoot my Glock 17 even on long shots. The trigger broke clean and did not cause me to hesitate or jerk it due to creep or a gritty feel like some Glocks. My vertical stringing that I sometimes get when I am shooting my Glocks under the timer was gone. I only dropped 3 points in the whole match. I did not shoot faster than normal but I did shoot it as fast as I am currently able to make hits and my penalties went down a ton. I placed 3rd overall and in my division. I usually place 4th to 6th. Not only that the usual suspects who usually beat me by 10 or more seconds only got me by 3 to 4 seconds. I am going back to my Gen 3 Glock 17 with the Skimmer trigger until they come out with the Skimmer for the Gen 4. Its so good I am going to get one for all my Glocks. (Glock 26 and Glock 17 gen 4 and Glock 20 gen 4 still waiting on the 20 to arrive)
This is an awesome trigger and its not a competition trigger it’s a carry trigger. I wonder how good it would be if they got the pull weight down to 3 pounds.

Very cool review and videos. I never had a problem with glock triggers to begin with so I would love to get my hands on this set up and try it. It's also been a while since I had a glock around the house too. I am considering getting the wifey a g19 and I might just slap this in it without telling her. :)

I've been wanting to try one for a while but I can't justify the cost... but this review is tempting.
