I'm just wondering if anyone has had hands-on with this scope? I know its new and the jury's not out yet.

The price is around $150, thats a great buy if its as good as the M-223 line.

Seems like it would be a nice alternative to the fixed 3x ACOG...though its larger. Seems like it would be a good fit on a hunting AR.

The one I handled was a fairly nice little scope, compact, good eye relief, good reticle. No illumination though.

Yeah the downside is not having a illuminated reticle. I guess if they are marketing hte P-223 for hunting then the lit reticle isn't as important. I dropped the Eotech line and went to a Burris TAC30, the illumination is great and I would have a hard time putting a non-lit scope on an AR.

I am drawn to the compact size and the price. For $150 I should just buy one, beat the piss out of it, and see what its made of.

I checked both out but went with the P-223 3-9x40 BDC 600 mounted on a 20", and used mostly for coyotes. Both are good scopes for the money. When I bought mine they (Amazon) were running a sale which included the mounts. Its a really nice setup.

Be sure to check out their "Spot On" ballistic match technology. Helped me with my different loads and ammo manufacturers.

I got a $10 certificate from nikon with my scope purchase, i might use it towards the software. I got the small model because its mounted on my carbine, when i do my reece build soon. I might get the 3-9 :) i did download the tables for the pmc xtac 62 and 55 grain ammo. Its neat software!
