View Full Version : The AK Pimp Strikes Again.
It seems evil Templar has struck again and corrupted another perfectly happy AR owner. Less than a month ago poor mark5pt56 was perfectly happy with his AK less firearms collection. Now the AK bug has bitten the poor guy very hard. In the past month he has purchased a Vector, tried to buy my Khyber Pass AKM right out from under me, ordered an NDS receiver & Romy G kit, and looking into an SLR-106F. I ALMOST feel sorry for him. Having Templar around the poor guy did not stand a chance.

When he zeroed, it was holding a 3" group at 100, prone, no rest.

We ran a couple mags through M4arc's 107 before he sends it off to be shortened. Of course we had to call him and say it wouldn't run and we had it in the shop with a monkey and a dremel:eek:
Dinger and I worked the AK's through some various drills. We had a blast, hitting the swingers with the 7.62 round is a world of difference vs. the 5.56 strike. We even dialed in the M&P's at 100!

It ran like a champ. h8mtv should be very proud of his handiwork and I cannot praise his AK builder skills enough. That gun performed just as good as it looks. The SLR-100H also shot like a dream, as did the Vector. I certainly prefer to shoot milled AK’s; they are built like a tank and are very smooth to shoot.
It was a fun day.

I'm ignorant on some of the models, I think you're referring to the milled one? That's a little jackhammer! We used a bull for zero, which is right about 6"'s, that one put then all in the black, if I remember correctly, like 4"s. It had a different feel to it, nice though.
M4arc's 107 was hitting about 2' high, we bent the barrel up with a pipe wrench to save him the aggravation.
We had no problems hitting the 12x12 plates at the 100 and also used the facade to work on some positions like roll over prone and couldn't leave out the rice paddy prone! I think that's a fairly quick and stable position.

I think alot of people know nothing of the platform and only what they've heard spouted. I can say from my experience is that they work, never seen a 7.62 version fail and are forgiving to the person who doesn't take care of things.
I won't make the mistake again and sell mine.

I hate AK's, I hate, AK's, I hate Ak's! I keep telling myself I picked up an AZEX build yesterday and 3 other AK's this year and im heading to Prescott and J&G has SLR107CR's on sale for 799.00. My wife is gonna kill me. This AK disease sucks considering I told myself I would never own one after being shot by one of them. Lucky the shooter was a bad shot and left only a tiny scar.:p
