5.56 can with 5.56 and 22LR = Go or no go?

I know some mfgr's say it's ok....

I know 22LR is dirty as balls.

Would you/do you run this setup?

I wouldn't be running this out of the same gun as I'm not a real believer in 22 conversion kits (dedicated 22 uppers are fine, but I sold mine). It would likely be a used on a 10.5" SBR, Ruger 10/22, and maybe occasionally a Sig Mosquito or 22/45.

How would your approach the issue of attachment when your AR has say a KAC QD or standard A2 and your 22 has 1/2 x 28 tpi?

Trying to use the use the 'look for things that serve more than one purpose' philosophy, and of course I don't have the budget for 2 stamps/suppressors.

Thanks for any input/advice!

A 5.56 can is going to be pretty heavy hanging off the end of a .22lr handgun.

Unless the 5.56 can is able to be taken apart and cleaned I would really recommend against getting one can.

A good .22lr can is well worth the money and really fun.

I definitely would not run 22lr through a 5.56 can. I just purchased a 5.56 and a 22lr can at the same time for this very reason. I got them both, AAC 5.56 and Gemtech 22lr for just over 1k and the stamps. What you spend on the extra 22lr can, you will save in the life of your 5.56 can.

Yeah, a 5.56 can on a 22LR pistol or 10/22 would probably be front heavy and awkward, but I figure for just occasional use I could live with it.

Would definitely want one that could be disassembled.
