Hey everyone, I just finished up my build and I wanted to do a few reviews of some of the parts I didn't see reviews of. I wanted to do a 14.5" barrel with pinned flash hider just because I wanted it as short as possible. The barrel is $190.00 and they will pin a regular flash hider on for $40.00. This is pretty reasonable for the barrels I was comparing it to and it had all the features I was looking for
Rainier Arms Select™ 5.56MM Barrel - 14.5
Features:

Barrel Length: 14.5″
Gas Block Seat: .750
Rifling: Polygonal 3 Groove
Weight: 29 oz
Stainless Steel: 416R
Feed Ramps: M4
Gas System: Midlength
Chamber: 5.56MM
Finish: Matte Stainless / Black Oxide
Twist: 1×8
Thread Pitch: 1⁄2×28
Testing: MPI tested
Made in the USA!

I tested for accuracy yesterday by putting my 16x Nikon Buckmaster scope on it. I only shot 6 rounds all at 100yrds. Three HMS with 55gr V-max bullets and 3 with PMC 223 ammo 55gr FMJ.

All in all I am pretty happy with the results. Both groups were consistent at a little over an inch. Now neither of these are great ammo and I think the accuracy would be better with more quality ammunition.

All in all a very nice barrel for the money. And a money back guarantee!!

Thanks for the review. I"m also considering a Rainer select 16" for an upcoming build and please write a follow up when you have more rounds through your new rifle.

Did you have Rainier Arms build your upper?

I will definitely do a follow up after more rounds. I built the upper just had rainier pin the flash hider. Thanks

Why did you only shoot six rounds?

I have to wonder why someone would even bother making such a post after only firing 6 rounds.

Next time I would suggest firing several 5 or 10 round groups which might produce more worthwhile data.

To be completely honest it was an after thought and it was the last few rounds I had. I had fired about 60 rounds immediately prior and I was fighting about a 25mph wind at my 2 o'clock and failing light . Plus in my opinion especially when using factory ammo, when shooting more than a 3-5 round groups you run into more possibility of inaccuracy due to loading differences. I'm kind of new to the AR platform and most of my shooting background is in bolt action varmint and target shooting. I load my own ammo and 3 rounds is plenty to see what the rifle is capable of. That may differ in a semi auto rifle. I will shoot a 10 round group the next time I'm out. thanks guys
