View Full Version : Help identifying these mags??
Sorry mods if this is in the wrong section.
A buddy of mine gave me this box of mags. Most are new in wrapper with date codes of 1967 and a few dated 1962. There are no markings on the mags themselves, I believe they're 20 rd. capacity. They are .45 acp. Other than that, I have no idea. Are they worth the hassle of selling or just keep them for novelty? Value?
Thanks everyone.

Thanks...they could be 30 rds. but I haven't tried loading them. Any idea if they're worth anything? I have no use for them...or just keep them for the sake of having them?
Kool Mags, here's a link to a place that sells the ones like you have for 35 bucks each.

It's a start for you to be able to price them.

i bought grease gun mags last year for my AR45 , i paid somewhere around 15-16 ea ( new in wrapper) i'll see if i can find the link.
They could also be Thompson 30 rounders, which also work in the Grease Gun..
Thanks everyone...they are cool. Not sure if I'll sell them or not. I appreciate the feedback.

That is not correct. Thompson mags have a back ridge and won't fit in a grease gun.

However Grease Gun magazines can be used in the Mac 10.
Hmmmm...sorry for the incorrect data. I thought I read somewhere the Grease Gun was developed to replaced the Thompson due to cost and they wanted a subgun that would take the Thompson mags? Forgot about the ridge. Sold my 1927 model years ago and it only had two mags with it...

Correct on the first part, but they don't use the same mags.

They might be worth more to a VN-era collector. Dates on wrappers et al.

This, they would be a great addition to someone who collects Nam era militaria.
