I wonder since the gun was seized in 1933 was it even registered after the 1934 NFA after it was passed or was it later registered as an amnesty gun. It would suck to have spent that much on a piece of contraband that you can't own.

These guns were never seized apparently. They were found in a raid in Joplin with pictures of the pair, and were given to the individual that sold them.

I thought it interesting that one of the auction reps thought the Thompson could sell for as much as.....25-35K lol

Hell, I have seen standard Thompsons at 21-25K (Colt and Savage). Even I knew the final price would be much higher.

I am pretty sure they were registered at some point long before this. I am guessing that there was several years after 1934 that people were given to comply with the new regulations.

Well it went for 130,000 dollars, and add the 17% buyers premium to it and it comes to 152,100 dollars, quite the pricey 1921 Thompson. Also, the shotgun that Bonnie and Clyde left behind went for 80,000 in the same auction, plus buyers premium.
