I bought a Glock 34 with a test fire date of Sep. 2011. It does not say made in Austria on it anywhere. It says "Austria" on the slide like normal, but the frame just says "Glock inc. Smyrna, GA". So are these US made Glocks or what? My old Glock 19 says "Made in Austria" on the frame.

Right above the "Glock Inc., Smyrna, GA" markings it should clearly say "Made In Austria."

the US facility can build complete guns. It's possible we are getting frames from there now.

My new 34 does not say that. That's why I asked.
Nowhere on the gun does it say "Made in Austria"

That frame is made in the USA, the rest of the gun is made in Austria. Glock has been making some of the full size frames in Smyrna, GA for the last 1-2 years.

Correct, but longer time frame. I have a G17 with 09 casing and it too has no Austria reference.

My G19 gen 3 test fire of 08/11 says "made in Austria", right above "Glock Inc., Smyrna, GA" on the starboard side of the frame. No idea where the slide was made.

Wondering if this is gonna cause any controversy like when SIG started making pistols here. Is this a Gen 4 only thing (are any of the Gen 3 guns made in the US)? Does it make a difference? I shoot an Exeter made SIG and can't tell any difference between a German vs. US made gun (my Gen 3 G19 is made in Austria).

It's only Gen 3 17/22/31 frames at this time, IIRC.

The molds, machinery and "plastic" are all exactly the same here and in Austria so no difference in quality.

What's funny is that it is not all the full size guns sold in the US, only some of them. My 1-1/2 year old 17 with EXO slide is Made in Austria.

All Glock slides/barrels are made in Austria.

For certain contracts there are Glocks that are US made with slides and frames marked as such.
