ETA: do you need MOLLE? If so, these probably wont work, but they are around your budget.

PIG brigadine plate carrier, $90.

Eagle Low Vis carrier, $109

There is no problem if it don't have molle. Most of the time i will be wearing it before a high risk control, warrant ...
but sometimes i will wear it under uniform for low profile.

After searching for days and wanting a molle plate carrier i almost came to my choice :
Banshee Rifle Plate Carrier
http://www.tacticalassaultgearstore.com/bansheerifleplatecarrier.aspx
or
TYR General Plate Carrier (GPC)
http://www.tyrtactical.com/products/details/armor-load-carriage/general-plate-carrier-gpc/

I think that it would be the banshee because the tyr is double the cost.
The only problem is the availability of the banshee. I don't know if still have to wait for weeks to get one. Also i can't find a place to buy it and send it with USPS here in Greece.

Doesn't the Hellenic National Police still wear the light blue uniform shirts? If so, you may be better off getting something in a lighter color. Black may show too much through a light uniform shirt and carriers like the eagle low profile are still too bulky for use under shirts. You might be better off saving some cash and waiting for some of the new light plate carriers that debuted at SHOT show and contacting the manufacturers. They can probably accommodate you by shipping to Greece.

At summer we wear the light blue uniform shirts. At winter we wear over the shirt a dark navy color uniform.

If we must go high risk control, warrant ... i don't think it would be a problem to wear it (black color) and up the changes to keep me still live. Sure a light color plate carrier it would be a little easier on light blue uniform shirt. ;) but i have an obsession with black color over a black coverall. :D

For under the shirt wear i will do myself a plate carrier with an old cordura i have from an airsoft plate carrier. I think i will make it.

Is there any site or blog that can show the new products to see for myself and make a contact?
Thanks oreaopla for your help. Is there any change to be a Hellenic person? oreaopla means in Greek GOOD GUNS or NICE GUNS. :)

Condor = Airsoft, or near thereto.

The lowest I would go for a duty-use plate carrier would be Blackhawk. Eagle, TT, and others make high quality stuff without breaking the bank.

As i read about the PC's i found that condor is something like airsoft as you said. The next was banshee and tyr tactical. The blackhawk and eagle too gimmicks not good design for my taste. The TYR (http://www.tyrtactical.com/products/details/armor-load-carriage/general-plate-carrier-gpc/) was a good choice but double the price of banshee and the front pocket was for M4 ammunition. If i put carbine ammo that would be 7,62 for HK G3. So i went for banshee (with lifetime guarantee) and the extra money will go for pouches, kits...

Thanks anyone for the help.

There may be a few others but most of the new stuff is located under the shot show 2012 pictures thread. I hope it helps. Try to avoid airsoft stuff. You may save money now but cheaper stuff will fall apart quickly so save up and buy something a bit more expensive made by quality manufacturers. TAG makes decent stuff as far as I know so you should be good to go. Are you guys switching to the g36 yet or is it only for special units so far? I know mandatory service is done with the Greek G3 but I know Greece has a new contract for the g36. I think if you purchase mag pouches made for 3 m4 mags, you can probably squeeze in g3 mags but it'll never work as well as sr25/7.62 purpose built pouches.

Hi oreaopla. Thanks a lot for your links. The G3 is the mandatory service gun here in Hellas for the army. As far the g36 i don't know if the army have a contract. Back some years they bought the M16 and i think M4. In earlier years they had also the FN. I think that the 7,62 ammo is more powerful and if placed well on target i don't think someone will survive. Also the characteristic of it make it to fly well also for precision rifle shoot (800+ metres).

Sorry about my poorly american-english. Hope to understand me.

For the special anti terror team (LE) here in Hellas have a look here :

I had read about it as a recent contract but it's possible it was postponed due to the current financial issues Greece is facing. I have seen m4 carbines in use especially when I travelled to Greece during the Olympic games and saw several port authority guards with them in Pireas. I agree with the 7.62 for longer ranges which is why I own several rifles in that caliber, including the FN Scar H and a SAR-8 overstamp made by EBO in Greece (Greek export semi-auto G3). I am quite familiar with EKAM and read about them in several publications and most recently in Glock's magazine. I was surprised they issue the G21 in .45 as I figured they used the typical NATO 9mm much like almost everyone else in Europe. Most regular Greek police I've seen seemed to carry Beretta 92 pistols. Is that still the case?

Most regular Greek police carry the HK USP or HK USP COMPACT (with tritium sights). These are the handguns give the LEO now (compact - last 2-3 years). I think many LEO have bought themselves a lot of GLOCK (especially 9mm) for duty gun. I also bought and carry now the 17C on 1998.

Ekam had issues with 0,45 on a treat they had.
