I was wondering if anyone here had tips to drilling and pinning an F front sight base without the BRD Engineering jig?

Yeah, Steve does great work and he is quick about it. Just got a barrel back that he pinned; turn around was a week with all the shipping.

Yeah they are fast. They did a F/S pin job for me.
I dropped my barrel at UPS on Monday, they got it Wednesday, was back in my hands Saterday. :)

I have some pins and a taper reamer on order. I will post pics when I finish, hopefully this weekend. I didn't want to be a cheapskate, just wanted to see if I could do it myself. I already cut, threaded, installed a barrel extension and chamber reamed a 1X7 barrel blank for a pistol. I just need to drill for the extension index pin, gas port, and drill and ream the taper pins.

The BRD Engineering jig looks well made but I intend to install 2-3 front sight posts. I originally wanted to make some 300 Blackout barrels and bought a .223 blank to practice. I ended up with two pistol size barrels, one of which will have a YHM low profile gas block and the other a fixed sight post.

If you're in central NC, I have a company who did mine for about $10.

That gave me a sinister grin, how anyone could mistake your intentions by now is beyond me.
