View Full Version : MOLLE Sling Attachments?
I am looking for a MOLLE sling attachment for a plate carrier, something that will attach to the rear of the plate carrier and hang over the shoulder allowing a carbine to be slung from it. I know emdom makes a longer version of the URS but this is a custom item with a lead time of several months. Are there any other similar products out there that can be easily obtained?
Here are two options....
I used the Gear Sector sling and it is very well made. Jason at Gear Sector is a great guy to deal with and they have great stuff...

Here is another I have not used...

Tactical Tailor also makes very high quality gear.
Hope this helps...

Here is a link too one that I have worked with quote a bit.
It has a simple molle snap attachment for the back of the vest/plate carrier and a stainless mash clip weapons attachment on the front. The owner of the company Mike is a good guy and very easy to work with.

I just recently started using the Emdom URS and it's pretty damn long. I use it with the PIG so I can use the double d ring or buckle kit to hook it to the ladder system on my shoulder pads. They have a pic on MilitaryMorons showing it attached to the back of a PC so I imagine it's long enough, the link is on Emdom. I attach it to the far back of my shoulder pad and it's still adjusted to about half the legnth.
The pic shows it attached using the double d ring and the buckle attachment they provided, I can eliminate that by using the buckle from the PIG...

I was somewhat thrown off by the description at that link: "Sling that runs through both shoulders and attaches to the single release point FSBE2/RLCS vest."
Is that the one you have? How long are the straps on the back?

urban ert slings makes some nice slings, and have what you are looking for.
I know a lot of guys like to just throw 30 bucks at a problem and have a viable solution show up in the mail. Ready to go. But I feel obligated to at least let you know that $15 worth of Type 7 4088 webbing, two triglides or ladder locks from any of the 9 billion companies out there making them (plastic or stainless, whatever flavor suits you) and the attachment of your choice (MASH, QD, HK) would be cheaper, lower-profile and possibly even more durable depending on your choice of hardware.
Just sayin. It aint exactly rocket science. You dont have to pay a little extra for something you would have made a different way anyways.
Let me know if youre interested in making your own.
As far as making my own I am taking a class next week (17-19) and need to have one by then. However I would be interested in learning how to do it myself for future needs.
One more question, does anyone utilize the "D" rings on the shoulders of a eagle plate carrier to support a carbine? Are these up to the task? The reason why I was asking about a MOLLE attachment is they looked like flimsy plastic.
Blue Force Gear offers the MVS (Modular Vest Strap?) for this very purpose, and I've used one successfully on IBAs and plate carriers from Paraclete, Eagle, and BFG.
1" Acetal or Nylon D rings from National Molding or ITW will support your rifle so long as they are not regularly or unreasonably shock loaded. Transitioning to secondary should be fine. But. I see no reason to not route some 4088 over it and anchor it on one of the rear platebag's rungs.
Just to update this thread, my fears of breaking the D rings on the carrier were unfounded. I used a eagle plate carrier with the sling attached for a fairly intensive 3 day carbine class and they held up fine. For the sling I was using a Emdom URS in the regular length.
