Im thinking about getting a daniel defense. After seeing the torture test im sold on dd for my first ar, just that the test was done with a ddm4v and im looking at the ddxv. What im wondering is if these rifles are built the same besides the ddm4 having a special rail and different butt stock. Would the ddxv be as reliable as the ddm4? Thanks

Same rifle without a rail. I own one, and put on a Omega X FSP rail - now its a DDM4. Good gun.

But... I do wish DD would put out a 6720 equivalent.

I really love my DD M4V7 LW its my new favorite rifle out of all my ar's and a great value actually and if you shop around they can be found for fairly cheap compaired to MSRP

ive got an XV, but i've done some modding.

I dont think they even make the DDXV anymore. Now it's the DDXV-EZ with a quad rail on it. Still a low MSRP and could probably find it for less than $1000. I got mine for $850.

It is the same as the M4V1 without the fancy rail and VFG. Get one DDs are AWESOME!

That's just a Magpul MOE Handguard. the light mount and QD socket is an Impact Weapons Components mount.

Its the same gun with a different rail. All DD rifles are GTG!

you guys looked at the 2012 DD catalog on their site? The XV/XVEZ is gone. :(

I have 2 DD's and couldn't be happier. I have the V5 and V1 excellent tools and if there's any problem (which could happen with the best of them, but not to me so far) they are / have great customer service.

Odd, all that torture test sold me on was the Aimpoint.

Now if they had taken measurements of the rifle after each physical abuse (verify everything is still straight, stock still moves...)

Didn't Larry Vickers not only fire the weapon after each test to show that it was still functional, but put rounds on target indicating everything was still at least straight enough for the accuracy required to do so?

Yes, the video showed that LAV was still able to hit steel after each of the "tests". I think that is about as rugged as a carbine and optic gets....

A validation of the AR platform, and very much for the Aimpoint.
