picked this up a few days ago, put about.... 150 rounds through it so far.

thinking about an offset flashlight mount either behind or in front of the foregrip.

Nice score. It's looks like a "Ban" era rifle. Do you live in a "Ban" state?

live in texas, so, i don't think so.

but if you look up the Target Match Competition HBAR II, none of them have a flash hider.

Many of Colts competition models dont have a flash supressor. I had an Hbar rifle a few years ago. Very accurate rifle but it was HEAVY.

Congrats on the new rifle.

My first rifle was also an HBAR full size, with flash hider. It was so darn heavy that I sold it for a carbine :D They're great rifles if you're looking for accuracy.

I have a Match HBAR Colt. The heavyness of a full sized A2 kind of defeats the whole purpose of the AR15 being a light weight rifle.

That might be a selling point now but its original attribute was a lightweight and controllable rifle.

Easy soldier, let's not forget that, *GASP!* not every AR-15 bought in the world is for someone to carry around all day while looking for Charlie in the tree or Ahmed in the coffee shop.

It's not a crazy thought, it's called reality. Welcome to it.

Nice Colt, Tad. I can imagine how nice it'd shoot with the weight and a good comp on it.

Out of curiosity, does your bolt carrier make a half circle like this one or does it make a full circle?

Also, does your rifle have a sear block (the part that says Colt on it in the following picture)?

the tail of the firing pin on mine is fully enclosed, but the carrier is C shaped, not a full circle.

there's no colt stamped block, but there is a metal wall where that block would be.
