Buckmark question, somethings wrong, just dont know what?

A friend of mine brought his Buckmark over to me to look at, he said he loaded it, shot one round, it cycled like normal, and than when he pulled the trigger nothing. I took it apart, and I cant see anything wrong, but sure as hell, cycle it, and nothing. I'm at a loss here as to what could be going on, any ideas as to what or where to look?

tighten the screws on the cover over the slide. when they come loose, the slide will fail to go into battery. you may also notice a wandering POI prior to this happening. because of the rear sight being moved by the loose cover.
if the screws continue to loosen, use clear finger nail polish or a sparing amount of thread locker to secure them.
