I purchased a Bladetech holster for my Sig p226 with a X300 light, it seems to fit looser than I would expect a pistol to fit in a holster without a thumbbreak or other retention mechanism. It will fall out when turned upside down and given a shake with the screws cranked down - BTW this was done unloaded over a sofa! Is this normal?

Which Bladetech holster do you have? Does it have screws on it to adjust the tension?

Strange, I have had NO problems with a Blade Tech for a non light 1911. Are you sure you have the correct size?? Even with the screws tightened all the way down, you should get some retention.

Just... Make sure you bought the right model holster. Just sayin. It happens. An old coworker of mine once bought a .308 TRX rail for his .223 AR. It happens. Everyone makes mistakes..

Got the same exact holster for my P226 w/X300. I've rolled around in the dirt and all kinds of acrobatics with mine and it's never come out. As was said above-- did you tighten the tension screws properly?

I think I located the problem, it appears that the rubber spacers were cut too long. I have another bladetech holster for the same 226 without the light and when I swapped the spacers over from it the pistol was retained properly. I am just to going to trim the included ones using the other pair as a reference.

I just got a Blade Tech for my G19 with TLR2. It fits nice and snug. Although I have been practicing speed draws and I find some of the material scraping off as residue on my Glock.
