We had this posted on another board, a member here saw it and thought i would post it here for anyone interested.
Guys, this is something we (Unity Tactical) have designed and have been working on with Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gun Works. Its currently in the prototype phase, but should be ready for prime-time in the not too distant future.
Unity Tactical designed the system, and L&M Precision Gunworks has exclusive rights to it.
Its a standardized interface system to allow users to get their slide milled once and switch optics as they please. Its also future optic compatible (to an extent), so you won't have to get another slide or get it re-milled for the next generation of micro dots. Simply buy the adapter plate to fit.
We are starting with Glocks & M&Ps using the Aimpoint T-1, Trijicon RMR, and Leupold Deltapoint. Other optics and platforms will eventually be available.

We are also in talks to develop a Carbine Mount that utilizes the same interface. This gives you the ability to swap optics between handgun and carbine with a wrench (Or thumbscrew) and zero the optic on your irons. Its a great backup solution, although something that may not be extremely practical to all users.

Well guys, here it is, Mark worked his Black Magic with the sights and we have some pictures of the fully complete prototypes. Once we get them back, some will scatter to the wind for testing by other end users, and some will stay with us for testing.

On a side note, this has sparked our interest to produce some of the other designs have been sitting on. For us, its a big step, but once we get the prototypes complete, we will share them.
Looks cool! How much? You thinking about offering completed slides or just working on customers guns?

Very cool design.
Love the concept. Seems like simpler to machine rather than trying to machine in the RMR footprint into the slide. Good luck with the prototypes. With my eyes crapping out more and more as I age, the more options for the mini red dots the better.

i like the modularity - very nicely done.
Is the plan for L&M to offer this as a package with the suppressor sights?
If you're starting a "notify" list, I'd love to get on it.
Yes, L&M will be offering this service along with the suppressor height sights, and will have adapter plates on hand.
We have not started a notify list yet, but its not a bad idea.
Once we get a little firmer timeframe I will start one.

That's pretty damn slick!
Well, we got the prototypes in today, the work is incredible. The fit is perfect, lockup is great, and they seem to hold zero well, we only conducted a quick static test, and won't have full results until we hit the range. Less talking, more pictures:

Milled Slide, sorry for the poor picture, the finish is impressive, not a single tooling mark, everything is silky smooth, and the adapter plates (Even hand made prototypes) slide in and out magically.

Bottom of the adapter plate with T-1 Mounted. There is only 1 change I will make on the production version, and that is to reduce the size of the occular relief for the T-1, functionally insignificant, but should reduce costs.

The T-1 Mounted from the side. The adapters return to 0 very well, so if you need to shoot irons for a while, when you replace the T-1, it should be very close to your 0.

Sliding the adapter plate into place, its important to mate the adapter fully before using the retaining screw, because the screw is so far forward, if you need to use the screw to seat the adapter, something is wrong.

I'd definitely be interested in a complete slide setup for the Aimpoint. This looks super! :)
Unity Tactical is proud to open the Pre-Order list for our Atom Mounting System. It is the most modular and adaptive system for mounting an optic to your pistol available.

Slide Milling with Refinish of Milled Area - $175
BUIS Dovetail Optional - $35 BUIS can only be mounted in front of the optic, not behind.
Ameriglo Suppressor Height BUIS- Optional - $45
Adapter Plate of your Choice - $45
Mark also offers a host of other services that will be available at the same time if you are interested.
One note about the BUIS. The BUIS dovetail depth must be reduced slightly as well as the Dovetail depth on the gun. The BUIS that you purchase with this system can only be used on an ATOM equipped gun. You cannot use any other BUIS without modification (Unless you use an Iron Sight Adapters) This is not our attempt to sell more Iron Sight Adapters, but rather a constraint put on us by the safety plunger channel.
The Pre-Order list is non-binding, You will have 14 days to send your slide in once we send notification. If you do not, we will assume you are no longer interested and bump your spot. Please do not pre-order if you do not intend to have the service completed. It will slow the process down.

Good news. Looks like the pricing isn't that bad either. I'm eagerly looking forward to the 45 Glock solution.
On a different note, have you guys considered making the rear BUIS integral to the mounting plate instead of having to cut an additional dove tail above the extractor. I know that for a Glock this would mean some windage adjustable unit like the PPQ, but for guns with dove tailed front sights the windage adjustments for a good zero could be made with the front sight. Seeing his close they sit to the optic, they probable wouldn't need to be very thick, just a blade to offer help in case of optic failure.
Just food for thought.

Overall the fit/finish of the slide was pretty good. There was was a bur left around where the mount screws to the slide. I knocked it down with a file.

Slide assembled. I mounted the T1 as far to the rear of the mount as I could (perhaps a 1/32 to 1/16 of play with the boss), and the T-1 was rubbing the rear BUIS when I pushed the mount onto the slide.
