Its winter up here in Alaska, temperatures have hovered around -20 to 30 degrees, and that usually means thick heavy clothing.

Is it better to deploy your main carry gun(P30) from a zipped up winter coat with 2-3 layers of clothing on top of it or pull the J-frame(LCR) in your front pocket that your hand is already resting on?

I've always thought that if the LCR did not stop the fight then the larger pistol could finish the job.

Thoughts?

depends on the situation. if you're up close and the guy already has a gun in your face the j-frame is pretty much your only choice. If you have a moment and some distance (or cover) I'd go for the automatic...

kinda nice how much more heat one can pack in the cold weather. :o
