I have a new Bushmaster ORC M4 and the trigger needs some work. I have worked on all my triggers in other guns before with good results. Having said that this type of gun is new to me so I am going through a learning process. I would like to have some advice for the things I can do to this trigger to reduce pull weight and increase the smoothness.

You can do a couple of things like add the Yellow Tavern springs (from Brownells), which will lighten things up. If this is a rifle/carbine that you'll use for self defense I would use them. They make the hammer hit the firing pin with less force.
Adding a match trigger would be a better choice, something like a RRA 2 stage (reworked by ADCO) or when they become available the non-adjustable Geissele would be my first choice.
Y If this is a rifle/carbine that you'll use for self defense I would not use them. They make the hammer hit the firing pin with less force.
Fixed it.
