How is the Quality of Remington Military these days?

I've heard (and seen on some occasions) that Remington's quality control has been lacking as of late. However, their ACR offering looks like it has a lot of the kinks Bushmaster put into it ironed out and, being as the orginal Masada design was pretty solid to begin with, the Remington ACR could be an excellent rifle. Whenever they released it to civilians, I might be interested if 1) It ever ends up dropping to a decent price ($1500 or less as Magpul had anticipated when they originally thought of the rifle) and 2) I can trust that I'm more likely than not to get one with all working parks.

So, my question is: How is the quality of Remington Military? Have similar quality control problems been reported as with the commercial/hunting side of things? Or are they technically a separate entity under the Remington name?

Ive only seen the remington military stuff at the shot show. It seemed high quality and the remington acr was vastly improved over the bushy version. but who knows as far as actual field usage. Also remington military doesnt sell to the commercial market.

No, that's why I'm asking if anyone had any experience with it. From what SMGLee said in his SHOT Show report on it, it looks pretty decent. I'm assuming they're going to offer a civilian version sooner or later. I was just wondering what the overall reputation on Rem Military stuff was these days.

If your asking because you want an acr, when you order parts, they come from Remington (minus the stock and handguard), and if you send them in to get fixed, sometimes they go to the Remington repair facility. so there's probably more Remington in the acr than alot of people think. That being said, Remington doesn't want civilian sales, they only do military type contracts. Bushmaster is the one that handles the sales to civilians. It looks like Remington wont change their policy and Bushmaster wont pick up the slack for a V2 type acr any time soon. Crap it took 2 years to get caliber conversions and sbr barrel sets in the sales catalog, and they still arent out.

I wish remington would release their acr to us mere mortals. I asked the factory rep at shot about a commercial release and he replied saying they had no plans but they've had enough interest in the design they might have to.

^^ i completely agree, i love my acr's but the remington ones are much nicer. about 70% of all acr owners that i talk to want a remington handguard and/or rifle
