Has anyone run an AUG A3, with the NATO stock, with Mag Pul AR magazines? What issues did you experience if any? What triggers are out there? Is Trigger Tammer(?) still the best option?
Thanks

M3 pmags should be used, not early pmags. The earlier pmags will continuously push on the bolt catch from the angled profile in the rear of the feedlips. Same thing happens in the SCAR16S. It causes the bolt catch to be push against the bolt lug with each rearward and forward stroke.
I just use OKAY GI mags and the stock trigger, so not much help.
The OKAY mags work just fine.
I only have a standard stock and use factory mags so I ain’t much help either. But I am interested to see what else is out there. In one of TFBtv’s more recent episodes James is interviewing a Steyr rep. I wish they would hurry up releasing Alf the crap he said they will be releasing.
You can get a MagPul drum in them so that's kind of neat. A bit awkward but its is 60 rounds right there!
Biggest issue is lack of aftermarket support. The standard version gets upgrades first it seems - likely more of them out there.
The biggest issue - in my mind - is the single bar trigger set up on the NATO stock versus the dual bar trigger on the OG. The dual bar OG can install the Ratworx 2020 sear which makes the trigger pull much better. I coupled that with an ARID trigger and its pretty nice.
I have an a3 that I run left handed so no nato stock for me. I do have a trigger tamer and it made a noticeable improvement. Been tempted by the long rail from corvus.
Trigger tamer is not the best option or the only one there are many now. Aftermarket trigger improvements for the OG in no special order just what I can think of off the top of my head include...
Tuning your factory trigger bar. Most people don't realize that the factory steyr trigger and or trigger bar are actually adjustable. TnSteyr has a video about it and does seem to make a big difference.
Steyr factory replacement springs
20/20 precision sear
20/20 precision AR based FCG pack
Moose purple pack AR based FCG pack
ARID replacement trigger
Trigger tamer
Trigger lite (same as the trigger chamber basically)
Factory trigger or safety, they have offered both depending upon the customer request, with a full auto lockout that in a semi-auto effectively functions as a over travel reduction stop.
Neu trigger.
So as you can see there are act several to choose from.
You do need to be aware that some of them can work together in combination and some of them cannot. And when I say cannot I mean potentially functionally but also importantly safety-wise.
Also some will work only in semi-auto guns and some will work in either semi or full. For example AR based FCG will work in full auto. Also the 2020 precision sear won't work in full auto because it replaces the sear. The arid trigger will the new trigger will and the trigger or safety with full auto lockout will in the sense that when shooting semi-auto it will reduce your over travel.
In my opinion at this time with what's currently available if it was me starting out fresh I would strongly consider the following. And I would do it all at once so I'm not needlessly repeating labor and installation.
Get the Steyr factory replacement springs. Get the arid trigger and safety. Install them and tune the factory trigger bar at the same time all together.
Done the end that's it.
There is a bunch of good advice here. I have the trigger tamer. I had tuned the trigger to basically no take up, just a wall and a break and a long reset. I have added the steyr springs and it is easier to charge, the pull is lighter and the reset is lighter. Calling it good. BTW, the corvus rail is awesome.
