How do we feel about Egyptian Maadi AKs?
I was thinking about getting back into 7.62 AKs. Most nicer guns are over $1k now, and the Century WASRs are around $600. I thought a Maadi might be an acceptable middle ground. I don't know much about them, but a site search reveals sub-awesome accuracy. Was this a batch problem or long running? Any other issues? Atlantic Firearms has them for $889

I was inquiring about getting a Maadi from Atlantic a few years back. They were the rudest pricks, of any business, I had ever dealt with.
That's just my sample of one. Take it with a grain of salt.

I'm with Steyr on this. Just wait a little longer and get an SGL-21 or another Arsenal variant if you can. They can be had used for not much more than one of the Atlantic Maadi's. The US barrels they use aren't going to be as durable as a foreign unit, and getting a problematic parts kit gun serviced by their contractor might be a hassle. Not that Arsenal's CS is a dream to deal with, but I've heard they usually come through. I build my own, so I don't have any direct experience with their CS.
