Dry FIRE?? DESPITE SUCCESSFUL STROKE??
MY NAME is Ty and I live in AZ which has awesome gun laws so long as you stay out of trouble...
I didn't formally introduce myself yet however I have learned a lot in a short time from this site. Thank you.
Anyway, I now understand that it is more beneficial to build your own gun for several reasons and that building an AR is not so hard.
However there is definitely skill and science involved to build one WELL.
when I am at the range, I can only get a few rounds off before my gun dry fires.
It will strip a new round, and reset but I will often get a dry fire.
I have it dialed in so it will lock back on an empty mag from adjusting my gas block etc. but I get that dry fire.
so you know what I am working with:
next build I will definitely use a matched upper and lower.
but currently I have a Spikes forged lower, a 2A Armament billet upper which is likely not a good setup, a Maxim Def. compact stock with the JP buffer spring, a Titanium BCG that is around 8-9 oz., an Elftmann 3 gun trigger. should I be using a heavier BCG? not sure.
I'm guessing the bolt is not returning to battery, however if anyone can shed some light, great. thank you
