No plates yet--this is meant as a "teaching rig," not a "fighting one." Building it up to use for "then vs now" exercises once I get to a free state and get my classroom, comparing the Guadalcanal and OIF 0311 gear and experiences hands-on.
Actually this is about five pounds of backslide from bottom-out, like I said too many good turkey dinners that I've been getting while I can, trying to help a local place I've been frequenting since college keep the lights on in spite of Dimslee's apparent determination to stomp all but the very biggest out of business.
Good stuff, man. Fifty pounds is no joke.

Thought I would drop in here with an update.
I made a post awhile back where I detailed my thoughts on the slickster. I decided that I would try and do one better. This is currently in its second generation. I was kind of experimenting with using elastic nylon to replace pouches for pistol mags on the chest, but I found out that under rough conditions the items don't stay put. I'm probably not gonna continue with that feature going forward. I shot a match this last weekend with it as shown. Really liked having a slick front and 4 mags in the cummerbund. I was doing my admin reloads from the right cummerbund and tactical reloads from the left.

Were you carrying a pistol, and how did that affect the draw carrying mags strong side?
I moved my med pouch to the very front on the cummerbund, as high as I can and it still affects my pistol draw a little. But I’m working around it.

Thanks man!
I really wish I could show you guys a feature I am working on. But I think I need to keep it a secret until its ready for sale.
To be fair, I'm not a home sewer. My "home" machine is a Juki 8700 that came with some upgrades. I used my GI bill to go to fashion school at a major university and am in my 3rd year.
