Disassembled the rifle.
Laid down a base coat of OD then after it dried I tore irregular shaped pieces of blue painters tape and applied them to the stock where I wanted the green to stay. I overlapped some strips to make larger blobs.
Then painted everything brown. Waited for that to dry and applied more irregular shapes of blue tape where I wanted brown and overlapped some of the existing tape where I wanted brown and green to stay.
Then sprayed on the tan. Waited for that to dry. Then removed all the tape. The contrast of colors seemed a bit sharp, so I did a light mist of all three colors to help tone them down a bit. If an area seemed too dark it got a touch more tan. If it seemed too light it got more of the brown or green.
After that dried I put on some Polyurethane Satin Clear to provide a bit more protection.
After a day of drying in the hot garage, I reassembled the rifle.
