If you want to hunker down and let intruders have the run of your place, far be it from me to stop you. But I'm not you, my house isn't your house, and I couldn't care less if others agree with my intentions.
But now I'm curious. How many home invasions have you defended against? Seems you fancy yourself some sort of SME on this.

I'm not an SME on home invasions, but I played a force-on-force instructor in the building search, active shooter, SWAT, and general patrol arena for a couple years.
My experience is that solo blitzing into a room where you don't have the threat located is a good way to get lit up. The surprise, violence of action, drive through the objective thing works pretty good if you don't give yourself away by thundering down the hall before you enter the living room.
Generally if you are going to advocate something to other people, who might actually listen, you ought to have done a little more to vet the tactic than think 'hey, this sounds manly.'
