poppin in to offer my good wishes. I just applied for a research grant to help fund my own medical research. It is always good to be reminded of the brave people we work to help! People like you and your son are why I get up and go into work every day. God bless.
Jay, Have you guys scheduled a date for the port to be removed?
OT will start a new chapter in Andy's life. The fear will slowly fade but it won't go away completely.
Tomas still prays for Andy.
Smuckatelli:
Andy says a week after they finish treatment. [Edit: Joanna says it is one month after last chemo session]
We are all very happy. I hope we can begin to slowly turn a page. . . tell Tomas we are grateful for the prayers. Exceedingly glad you checked back in.
Andy made it down and back fine on Thursday. He went to bed early- with a slight disturbance- and got up feeling fairly well. Tough row to hoe but he's citing the end of this chapter of his recovery.
God bless you and thanks again, everyone.
Had a strange occurrence during the early am on Saturday; Andy woke up. I grabbed a sixgun and was headed outside, but stopped and looked in Andy's room. There he was with his M4C Colt, no ammo but he was clutching it :) :) I eased on out with the .44 mag but all was clear. I asked him what he was going to do with an empty gun, he said "throw it at them",
Regards to all
Another safe trip today; only five more trips!
Andy was fine when they got home, not too sick. Best regards to you all! :)
Howdy:
Another trip down and back. Andy's counts were at 300, so they were a bit low and he got a 1/2 dose of chemo. He felt fine by Friday morning and was good to go. He has been at mom's house visiting since Friday evening.
Four more visits. The port comes out on the last visit. They go in on Tuesday, April 23 and get out on Thursday April 25. YAHOO!
You guys have stayed with us on one helluva journey.
That's awesome news Mr Gibson.
One more trip down! Made it safely home yesterday afternoon. No chemo as counts were at 200. They said it is perfectly normal as we are at the end. One correction about my last post, they will not be taking the port out on the April 23-25 trip. They will take it out at some point after that, within 30 days. Andy has felt bad today but seems reasonably okay. We are nearing the finish line! I promise we'll stop this thread on the 25th of this month. :)
