First of all, thanks Wes, Tokarev...
So that does use my gas system- good to know.
I saw K-var has those blocks listed at about $105 but they are out of stock. I wonder if I can pick up a used one elsewhere since I will be cutting the threads off and rethreading it- I have a G5 and two PWS brakes with lugs (even though one is a replacement because the first was too tight- they graciously sent me another when I asked- thanks PWS!)
So really I'm looking at the cost of the FSB and barrel cutting and threading which is usually pretty cheap- hopefully they won't need to remove my barrel.
Now is when I REALLY wish I hadn't passed up that unfired Saiga 12 for $300! I would just have it all rebuilt as a real Russian clone...
I'd also need a barrel "nut" that is 1/2x28 on the inside and 24mm on the outside for attaching the cone brake if I ever wanted that, but I don't think I even need to consider it, right?
Sorry for turning this into a discussion...
ETA: Elkhound- could you please put image tags around the images as I don't belong to the Saiga forum. Thanks!
TA2: sorry, where is Ted Marshall? AZEX? Does anyone have contact numbers for these guys or their emails?
yep that's what i need to do!
My preban Maadi trying on an Ultimak rail with an Aimpoint T-1. I think I will leave the Maadi stock.

Here's a closer look at the Ultimak and T-1:

I'm not much of an AK nut, but that Magpul AK is [Paris Hilton] Hot! [/Paris Hilton]

In addition to the two above, I've also had work performed by Piece of History Firearms, Elk River Tool and Die and Rifle Dynamics. All are good and all have a slightly different style but Ted's the master!
