Not an A2, retro, or vintage. That is an A4 clone (detachable carrying handle). The A2 has a fixed carrying handle that is an integral part of the upper receiver. Like so.

deleted since it's not a "vintage clone"

Israeli Defense Forces, IDF, style carbine. Many just like this mutt are patrolling Jerusalem as we speak. It is virtually a Colt 653 Viet Nam-era gun, but with upgraded barrel to 1/7 twist. Larry Vickers’ Delta Force issued carbine from thirty years ago was also essentially the same, but his A1 upper had a shell deflector bump behind ejection port.
In my May visit to Israel, I saw several like this, including the cantilevered carry handle mount for red dot. Not unusual to see the old receiver and furniture but with upgraded M4 barrel, which allows for grenade launcher and stabilizes 77-grain ammo better than the original barrels would have.
Parts used: vintage 1970s Colt upper receiver and bolt carrier group; vintage Colt grip; Colt handguard; repro Fiberlite stock; new BFI chrome lined 1/7 M4 barrel with F marked FSB; birdcage flash hider; BCM complete lower half; BCM H1 buffer; Aimpoint gooseneck mount. Holosun dot.
Here's my Colt 724 clone. Still need a Boone and Packer sling and a Surefire P600 to make it more Gothic Serpent!
Barrel and BCG are Colt.

Colt LE trade-in 733 upper receiver group (1996 barrel date) on my SBR lower. Only the receiver extension/castle nut/endplate and the pistol grip on the lower are Colt though. At some point I’d like to get a complete Colt 6520 lower, SBR it and pair it with this upper.
I’ve got a 733 clone upper I put together that I have as an actual shooter, whereas this is kind of a collectible for me.
Also pictured is my Folder full of 80s and 90s Colt sales material.
