As for the overall sling, I am set on the Vickers. I will also re-state what has been mentioned before is that we will not be, or should not be, transitioning sling set ups in critical situations. Having said that, each person needs to weigh the slight differences in set ups and how they work for us, or what is more important to each user. Having said that....
I have tried various rear attachments but I seem to like the QD swivel on the endplate and mash hook with hood. I like that the mash hook will slide from side to side on transitions, but the hood placed far enough down keeps it quiet. I like that the QD option allows for removal at the endplate, however I also prefer a buckle of some sort for a quicker release option, as mentioned earlier, to separate the rifle from the user very quickly and easily, especially if wearing gloves. If one were to prefer all steel than a cobra buckle would work here, but I have never had an issue with quality, non-steel buckles. I also prefer the single point attachment ring to be under the sling as opposed to an inline ring ala the Magpul MS2. I understand the argument of maybe a slight advantage in hooking in, however more importantly for me, I just don't care for the way the sling sits when I transition to the support side if the ring is inline on the sling. Again there are slight trade-offs and that will be up to the individual to decide on.
For the front, I also use a QD on the rail and an HK hook. HK hook is a solid piece and old school so I am very comfortable with them. The only thing I might change is possibly using the MI MCTAR-TS on the front rail connection, but I still like the QD option. Not as big of a deal, but I also like both the QD attachments as they both can be removed quickly and the rifle will have a clean look.
After trying many variations, I've finally settled on this config which works best for me.
