For what it's worth, I like the Bushy reticle better than the Vortex.

Does that include the new reticle mil based reticle as well or just the original 3Gun JM-1?

Bumping this thread to request feedback from any long term users of this scope. This one looks like it meets my needs as far as reticle, magnification, features, and weights and dims go.
I've been using the SFP BTR-2 reticle for over a year and a half now. It is mounted on a Noveske Reece CHF and NSR handguard. Trigger is Geissele SD3g.
All of the comments made at the first of this thread still apply. I am liking it very much for what it is at its price point. It is a very competent scope for even professional use (although I am pretty certain if I was a professional, I'm not, I'd be buying S&B... but that is me.) It is not Kahles or S&B. But then it isn't Burris or Nikon P series either. What I wish it had (within reason): lighter weight and better turrets What I like: reticle, glass, repeatability, illumination (for FFP, maybe not as much.)
I think everything is just a compromise in this glass range (like weight vs price vs glass quality and etc) and the buyer has to decide what is more important to them personally. I know I like this better than the PST or Razor. (no actual range time with the latter 2-- just bench comparisons)
I am overall very pleased and would buy this again. In fact, I am thinking I will buy the 1-8.5 flavor for my FAL-PARA.
I haven't had time to do much with this optic since my last update, as I am still using a CQBSS on my ACC, and my match/training schedule has not supported rezeroing.
The 1-6.5 remains on my GP 5.56, and merrily chugs along when I manage to get it to the range.
I've run the BTR 2 FFP on my 16 inch 3 gun rifle for about 9 months and have few complaints. It's not overly heavy, especially compared to the Vortex. The reticle matches my 69g reloads perfectly out to 500 yards. The illumination isn't all that useful in broad daylight but the reticle is sharp enough for me to pick up, even at 1x. The main downside is that the eyebox gets rather small as the magnification goes up. It's not very forgiving if you aren't lined up perfectly behind it at the higher powers.
That said, I'm very happy with it and have no desire to change my setup. I've messed around with the 1-6 Razor, as it seems to be the main competitor and didn't really see an advantage one way or another. The Razor has better illumination and better eye relief, but damn is it heavy, and I personally prefer the FFP reticle on the Bushnell.
Thanks for the useful feedback folks. I've been looking around for a 1-n scope to put on a general purpose 16" 556 gun and this one is a contender. Naturally this forum encourages buying only the best. Maybe I'll tighten my belt a little and save up for one of those nice Kahles K16i optics.
I have one of these as well (SFP, BTR-2 reticle, same as F2S). I haven't had much chance to really wring it out yet, but I would recommend it based solely on first impressions, and the features it has at this price point. I think it is one of the few, and possibly only, scope in the 1-4 or 1-6 range that has a reticle that works in nearly all situations without illumination. The horseshoe portion of the reticle is sized correctly to aid in speed aiming and allow it to be used without illumination turned on. The illumination is bright enough to aid in sight acquisition in low light or low contrast situations (indoors, dawn/dusk, etc) and could also be used in all but the brightest daylight situations. In very bight daylight situations the plain black unlit reticle will likely contrast better anyway. The more expensive similar scopes (Z6i, and Razor GII) require the battery and illumination due to their reliance on a central red dot for aiming.
Mine weighed in at about 16-17 oz. (less than Bushnell lists it at) so it compares favorable to similar scope sin its' class. The Z6i is a little lighter, the Vortex and the VCOG are heavier.
The FOV and eyebox at 1x may not be the best in class (Z6i and Vortex GII 1-6 definitely win in those categories), but it is no slouch either. It is better than most other scopes in this category very usable.
Prior to this, I owned the Vortex PST 1-4, and SWFA 1-6 FFP. The Bushnell SMRS 1-6.5 beats both of those in every category. The SWFA 1-6 attempted to strike a balance with the size of the reticle for use on a FFP, and at 1x the ring is just too big too be of any use.
The SFP, BTR-2 version is tough to find on the secondary market, but it can be had new for about $1k still if you shop around and/or wait for a discount code or sale.
