I love my steyr usr....time to take picts!
Jagdkommando was gracious enough to send me a STG-556 for T&E last year for the Vickers M4 Mod/Staff class. Ran 1200 rds. through it, 400 of Prvi Partisan M193, 400 of Federal XM193, and 400 of USGI surplus M193 circa 1972. Nary a bobble.....100%.
Compared to a Polish PMKMS folding stock AKMS.......

Templar: what kind of light mount do you have on your AUG? I have a MSAR, and I'm wondering if I could use the same one.
Thanks jagdkommando! Bullpup brotherhood needs all the help it can get to turn this thread to a sticky.
Killjoy, that is a Vltor offset light mount that I took off of my Arsenal Inc. SLR-106's Ultimak rail.
It was less than ideal, but I got the carbine in the day before a class to T&E and didn't have any other options.
If I had an AUG type carbine, I'd mount the light as far forward as I could get it, and in this instance, I'd probably run a pressure switch back to the receiver that I could activate with my support hand.
Thanks!
here's my STG-556 with E4 stock, 5" rail, Tri-rail, KAC VFG and KAC handstop.

I just picked up the G&A Bullpup magazine today.
A few articles reprinted from the 80's, a few about bullpups currently issued/under development in Croatia, Iran, China, etc.
Looks to be halfway decent, actually...probably because they're really not trying to sell you anything.

SteyrAug, I have to ask since you have both, which do you like better: MSAR or AUGA3? Maybe reply with some strengths/weakness. I do like the idea of AR mags. for sure. Plus future availabilty of diff. calibers.....especially 7.62x39mm!
nm..... Sending PM
You can always mix it up a little, I'll see your FrankenFAL and raise you a FrankenAUG
I call this mutt a AXR-A3/E4, the LaRue H&K mount for the micro has arrived since this and my left hand bolt just arrived. The light isn't working for me as mounted.

Cost? Lets just say I should have purchased another Noveske VIS:( , wait i did:o
I had a FN FS2000 and couldn't warm up to it so it ships out today. The M-17 I was going to customize also shipped out. If anyone has a spare $12K I can refer you to the guy that was going to sell me a FAMAS also.
The AUG A3 for sure.
Very much is like Colt vs. Bushmaster. Both are fine rifles but the AUG is much better made and costs more. The AUG also seems to be more accurate, but I haven't determined if it is the rifle or the MSAR optics that are the cause. Simply put I'm too lazy to do a side by side of both rifles with the same scope. That and the MSAR shoots well enough for me not to worry about it too much. By the way you can run AR mags on a factory Steyr with a NATO stock. But if you want caliber variation, MSAR is your only option.
Have you tried switching parts between the two? Can you stick and MSAR barrel/bolt in an AUG? Might give me the best of both worlds. Could you elaborate on the quality diff. I know how much and MSAR is, haven't priced the AUG. Thankyou for your replies thus far.:)
An MSAR barrel will not work in a Steyr, and vice versa due to a slight difference in gasblock position. The bolts do appear to lockup, but it is not advised...
I really think asking for SteyrAUG to elaborate on perceived quality differences of the two is only going to drag this thread off topic. He has covered the topic before on this site, and it always turns into a brand war. It really is a subjective issue...
This is supposed to be a picture thread, right?

Shooting FS2000. Ejection port cover initially was closed. After 4 casings built up in there it popped open, spewing all casings.
