The only "new" thing about the Mini-MAMS in this is that we released an Inconel version this year.

Knights Armament products always look badass. Those SR-15 E3 uppers with the M-LOK rail will be next on my purchase list!

God, I so want one of their precision carbines that I can taste it. Just can't afford one. YET!

I am surprised to see the LCO featured. Hard to find tested reviews on it.
F2S, do you have an opinion on that sight? Is it on the battlefield? Advantages over a T2?

What do you mean released? Did I miss something? An Inconel 556 MAMS is at the top of my short list.

I thought the original MAMS were inconel?

I like it, has a good form factor.

I think it's the NT4 mams

Very odd. I swear I remember some discussion of inconel being used for at least part of the original MAMS. Something was discussed a while back about the difficulty of welding dissimilar metals?

Are you thinking of the 3T?

That's putting it politely. They've built the company on KAC knock offs.

I shouldn't have clicked on this thread.

I miss the 3.1 but now want the M-Lok. :D

How in the blue F does Griffin not feel the slightest bit of embarrassment or shame in this blatant rip off. I mean, it's not as bad as Beetlejuice borrowing all the R&D from the SR25 to make his BeetlejuiceOBR, but it's pretty close imo.

No sir. With the early MAMS, there were some complaints about the welds (aesthetics) and the cost. I thought I remembered that part of the explanation was the combined use of inconel and steel. But maybe I'm misremembering.

No idea. But they've never seemed to mind borrowing ideas. With that being said, the Recce series of suppressors seem to be pretty good cans.

I never really noticed it on the two MAMS I owned, but there is some very interesting directional porting going on in the picture above. That's what really sets the MAMS apart from the imitations. Pretty fascinating actually. It's like the design uses directional diffusion vs just porting.

Aside from the forwardmost portion of the flashcomp, what else to they have that is similar to KAC's?
Their taper mount muzzle devices are their own thing. Their suppressors too. I don't know of anything else that would qualify as a "knock off".

This thread is probably not the right place to have that discussion. I don't mean to be abrupt. Just trying to be respectful of SMGLee and the actual purpose of this thread.

I've really gotta start saving money for that SR15E3 MOD 2, it's the new #1 on my wish list.

I have one on pre-order, hoping it arrives this month before I go on vacation.

I remember that discussion. But I also recall that it was mostly speculation and best-guessing on our part. It was never confirmed or denied by any official KAC rep. Based off the information (or lack thereof) regarding the make-up of the MAMS, there were some assumptions thrown around without any hard data to support the idea. The first time I posted a pic of my naked MAMS it sorta kinda supported the idea that it could possibly be some sort of a steel Inconel hybrid.

It's been a long time and my memory is fuzzy at best. But I thought KevinB chimed in on that discussion. Maybe not?

Yeah I honestly don't recall. He could have, and perhaps his lack of confirmation or denial of the idea led us to speculate that we were on the right track, but then again maybe not. It was a couple years ago so my recollection of that discussion is about as clear as yours. But I do recall stating with a certain level of confidence, based on discussions I had with guys familiar with fusing metals, that it must have been partially Inconel due to the unusual appearance of the naked MAMS. And since that was neither contested nor supported by any KAC rep, I think we just kind of ran with that notion. Holy shit my eyes are getting bad.

I couldn't say what they are made of with any certainty, but a few of my MAMS have bulged to the point that I'm not comfortable attaching a can (if I could?) after using them on some belt fed MG's. The Triple Tap does seam to go longer in use without bulging, but the MAMS does seem to help control the platform better than the Triple Tap.
I'm really curious to see an all inconel version, or in that a can that handles a belt gun as well as the NT-4. I'm hesitant to to hang some of the newer KAC cans and others on some hosts. The NT-4 is like a tank, seems to out live some other brands MG only cans similar in size.

SR-25 ACC with MLOK URX4 have started to ship. I have one on the way!

Guys -- I cannot find the price of the KAC Anti-Cant Device (30855). Anyone knows MSRP?
