I have 4 BCM uppers,a Spike's and a Colt. I'm wanting another 16" midlength. I saw a Sionics with the MI 15" keymod rail(Rail i'm wanting to try) I can get it for $629 or the BCM lw with 12" MI keymod for $638. What would you go with?

There is a thread on here somewhere about Sionics if you do a search. Long story short they are good to go. I would be happy with either one of those uppers.

I do prefer the 15" MI keymod rail and cannot get it with the BCM. How are the Sionics bcg's?
The benefit to this upper is that you also get a 1/8 twist barrel (very accurate) and you also a get a good BCG (Carpenter 158, HP/MPI, 8620, etc.. with the NP3 coating.
Well typically we have seen less than 1.5 MOA and better with M193 and similar. If you pick up the latest Book of the AR15 (November I recall) the author took the rifle that we built at the shop with him and he was able to get something around .5 MOA.
Trident82 posted here about a build he did with our barrel and there are pics and stuff on the Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/SionicsWeaponSystems
The warranty is a lifetime warranty. The bolt, cam pin and carrier are NP3 coated.
Best value around, you won't regret it!
I watched a local peace officer fire either 6 or 7 rounds of factory ammo into a group just under an inch, at a lased 100 yards. He was using a scoped Sionics upper, laying prone with the carbine over a ruck as an improvised rest.
Sample of one, etc, etc. But there was no special "tweaking or tuning" on that upper, it was straight from the factory and shot that well.
I loves me some BCM - they are awesome. And my next barrel is coming from Sionics, for a self defense carbine for my daughter.
I was also looking at their lowers and a complete lower with Vltor A5 system is only $269. Can't beat that price! It is about $100 cheaper to order the upper and lower instead of the complete rifle. $890 for the upper and lower with A5, $1060 for the rifle with moe stock and standard charging handle. That is odd to me.
I've got the CMC trigger upgrade as well and it's very nice – everyone who shoots it comments on it.
Why not do it?
OP - with as many BCM uppers as you have, and the fact that you are interested in the MI 15" keymod handguard, why not go for the SIONICS?
My experiences with SIONICS' staff, and upper have been positive. I have ~1200 (low round count) trouble free rounds down the pipe on a Patrol Zero upper with mostly factory bulk (XM193, XM855, ZQI, etc.) ammunition, and am pleased with the product. This upper, and a BCM 16" mid have been the two uppers that have seen the most range time this past year. Love them both.
Why I love Sionics.
-The rifles are built right, just like BCM, but by our very own IG. I have confidence all the spec squares were checked in regards to material selection and assembly.
-The barrels are typically super accurate or at least above average.
-The barrel profiles are tapered! Not many companies do this, but it is no brainier in my mind. I am also a fan of melonite barrels.
-Factory Vltor A5 option. Ooh yeah!
-The price. You wont find better value, considering these things and stuff like the included NP3 coated BCG.
I ran sonics guns for the past year in classes and teaching test bedding a lot of these features,
the guns ran flawless for me through 11, 300 rounds
not a single hiccup guns are accurate. josh and will will take good care of you
you cant go wrong either way
Its great to hear all these positive things about sionics. I placed my order for a 11 1/2 upper assembly.
What a coincidence, at the time the OP made the first post of this thread I was on the SIONIC site planning my next purchase. I just hope everything will be in stock when I'm ready.
Does anyone know if SIONICS is planning to have more rail options in the future?
Sionics makes good shit. Have not had a single issue with mine including class time.
I hear the master armorer that works for them can be mean and hurts lots of feelings.
BCM KMR, Geissele mk5, mk8, DD RIS II ( I know its old, but oh so classic imo). Heck since I'm daydreaming how about some KAC 3.1 or URX too.
Certainly the KMR given the popularity.
Maybe more pistol grip options or just an A2. Personally I'm not a fan of the ergo at all but that's just me.
Just my own personal opinion: I honestly don't mind the relatively few number of options. I know that when you can reduce the carrying costs on inventory, it keeps your prices down. Right now, it's really a buyer's market. So if they can keep their prices low, I think it will help drive sales and stay in business.
And if I want a different rail, they still have me covered. I can buy the upper receiver, barrel with gas block, gas tube, and then buy my own rail system. I get quality parts, don't have to resell unused stuff on the EE, and get the exact system I want.
Granted, it's not a turnkey system, where you just push two pins together. But if someone was new to the AR family, I'd honestly recommend buying a complete weapon anyway. New folks really, really should stay away from trying to build their first AR, unless they have expert help. As in no fooling, geen-u-wine experts.
Again, just my own opinion.
Geissele mk1 would be sweet.
No argument here. Options are nice but serious does make a number of good points.
When I ordered my lower and A5 kit a sent a follow up email asking if staking the castle but could be skipped since I plan on running a different end plate. They offered to let me send it in and have it done for me. Definitely top notch service. I passed since I can do everything myself but it was a nice gesture.
I guess I see a Sionics upper in my future. I have been looking at them for months but have yet to pull the trigger.
