Great match today. Once the sun came out the temps got to a more bearable level.
H2O has a great set up and I'm looking fwd. to the rim fire matches as well as the next IDPA.
It was a BRISK morning wasn't it? It was good to see you there and glad you liked the match.

Still on for 2nd Sat of Feb?
Next match is this Saturday February 11. Registration starts at 9:00am.
Amp, sure thing. I think I took a Vickers 1911 class with you at a place called Drakes Landing. See you on Sat.
Good shooting with you today.
A big thanks to Tactical & Outdoor Wear for the door prizes. If you need 5.11, Woolrich, Under Armor, Oakleys etc give them a call 910 892-0187.
Amp,
Thanks to you and everyone who put on a fun match. 6 stages of fun! I'll be sure to come to all the others to follow!
Here is a picture of my buddy with those cascading targets. Both of us were not quite fast enough but it gave us something to think about and train for.

I'm glad you enjoyed the match, you both did great. I think that cascading target sped up as the day went along!
Here's the scores:http://www.h2ofowlfarmsnc.blogspot.com/
See you next month.
These matches get my highest recommendation.
Anything Amp is involved in is always top notch.
Total Newbie here. Have a few questions about IDPA.
Im guessing you must be an IDPA member to participate in these events. I see the membership fee for that is $40. How much does each match typically cost for entry fee?
How long does the entire match last? All day?
How much ammo are we talking for a single days worth?
I read some of the rules, and it talks about 10 round magazine limit. Also read about mags must be loaded to capacity, and you cant drop mags to the ground with ammo in them. Does this mean Hi-Cap mags would be out of play? Can't load the 13 round mag with just 10 rounds?
Just trying to get an idea on what we're talking about for investment. I have 2 friends and all three of us are interested in joining in on the fun.
We watched the videos from your last match and were instantly excited to participate.
Located in Wilmington.
Thanks for any help/advice!
Andy
You don't have to be an IDPA member to shoot the local matches. If you like the matches I encourage to join IDPA to support the organization though as member fees is the source of revenue that keeps it going.
Match fee is $15.00.
We start registration at 9:00 and begin shooting at 10:00. Depending on the participants, we are usually done by 2:00.
120rds should be plenty.
You can use your standard (high) capacity mags and only load 10 in them.
There is a match this Sunday at Buccaneer Gun Club in Wilmington. I think their registration starts at 8:30. Lon Layton is the contact guy there. lon@l-systems.com
I hope you can make it up to our match next month, it will be worth the trip, be sure to look me up.
Next match is this Saturday March 10.
After the main match, we will have a B.U.G.(backup gun) match. We will shoot the course of fire with B.U.G.s. 6 stages with reloads required. Bring a holster as you will have to draw your weapon (no shoulder or crossdraw holsters). Bring 100rds for the B.U.G. to be safe. This should be an eye opener with the little guns. Side match fee is $10.00.
72 shooters. Scores are up http://www.facebook.com/h2ofowlfarms
Next IDPA match is this Saturday April 14.
Have anything close to Morganton, Hickory, Marion Area going on? Burke, Mcdowell, or catawba county?
Thanks... Looks Great.

Looks like Wilkesboro or Boone is the closest to you.
I really want to get in to this sport. It only have 1911 and m&pC. I want to get MP pro 9mm badly !
You just need some dedicated people who are willing to work. You will need to have them trained as IDPA Safety Officers. There are several IDPA Safety Officer Instructors in NC that can teach the class. Contact IDPA headquarters to get info on getting your club affiliated with IDPA.
I think it would go over well in your area. Go for it.
Next match at H2O is this Saturday May 12. Registration starts at 9:00am.
Next IDPA match is this Saturday June 9. Registration begins at 8:00am and the match starts at 9:00am.

I am going to try and make the August one.
Be sure to look me up.
Glad you enjoyed it. I have alot of help putting the match on and could not do it without Damon, Pat, Terry, Allen and Andy.
What did you think about the blind stage?
The blind stage was really good. I actually shot it as my first stage, so nerves & adrenaline hadn't settled quite yet. This was also only my second IDPA match so was still trying to remember all the rules & try not to screw up. I would have liked to shoot it again towards the end of the day after I had settled in. Regardless, it was an awesome match & has definitely got me excited about doing more. I also really enjoyed the stage where we shot out of the truck.
Next match is this Saturday August 11. A big thanks to LAV for donating swag for the door prizes.
