Progress report:
ACRO died today, battery lasted 07/06-08/04 on setting 8. As the battery was dying, I was barely able to see the dot outdoors in daylight, even after attempting to increase the intensity (dot momentarily fades and goes back to about the equivalent of 5).
New Celewell 1225 battery installed and has been set to setting 7.
Mine is still on the original battery installed in late April. Running setting 7 as a default, up to 8 and 9 if it is really bright outside.
Bought 3 more Panasonic 1225's today just in case.
I didn't read the whole thread so forgive me...How would the acro perform on an AR? I feel like it would work great a lightweight carbine.
Get a T2 instead. The T2 has great battery life. The acro doesn't.
Optically the ACRO is quite good, much better than an RMR. In that respect on a carbine it would work just fine. Jury is still out on battery life, some users are still going strong on their first battery others not so much. The CR1225 battery is a 50mAh battery and that is not going to have the reserve to run 2+ years like an RMR, T2, MRO etc using a CR2032 that is a 225mAh battery.
Mine is still running fine on the original battery but I’m also only 5 months in. Plan to run it until it’s dead, then change on a schedule of 1/2 battery life thereafter.
