A failing action spring can bring this problem on suddenly. Replace it.
Weak or damaged action spring. A carbine action spring should measure a minimum of 10 1/16" for a quick check.
How many rounds do you have through it?
It looks dry to me. Maybe just the picture though. It wouldn't hurt to give it a drink and see what happens. I am old and continue to use BreakFree CLP.
The new spring is installed and it's chambering rounds 100% now while cycling by hand. I'll try to get out and fire it in the next couple days.
The increased tension of the new spring was evident on the first pull of the charging handle. It seems I've used this firearm enough to warrant stocking up on critical spares.
