govt profile barrel and FSB for kino setup
i picked up a BA 12.5", carbine gas, govt profile barrel to possibly do a kino setup. i didn't realize the .750" thickness didn't go all the way to the threaded muzzle. it has the area for the gas block/front sight base, then steps down a few thousandths for an inch or so, the steps down again for about .5", then the threaded muzzle.
is there anyway i can use a FSB on the portion of the barrel that is a bit smaller than the gas block diameter? can i use a clamp-on FSB instead of pinning it? will i be able to squeeze the bolts enough and the barrel not be too thin?
if you hover over the muzzle area to enlarge the image, you can see what i mean.

or am i SOL?

Conversely, you could purchase a .625 FSB and have it opened to .740 or whatever the appropriate diameter for your barrel would be. I don't know if all manufacturers use the same FSBs for .750 & .625 barrels, but my BCM sourced .625 FSB is the same as a standard one, the only difference being a smaller hole bored through it, which leaves plenty of meat to open it up for a Dissipator or Kino build. I haven't had time to start the project, but that is my intention for this FSB.
