Basic/KISS build

Something simple. I’ve run about 500 rounds through it so far without cleaning. Acog is next and then a yhm turbo suppressor. Need to get an updated pic with sling and light.

Gucci-KISS? :blink: Whatever makes you happy. Were you hoping to snag a Sandcutter below 249.00? Plenty of places have them brand new in-stock at the 249.00 and slightly higher price.

Kiss just means keep it simple, stupid. I don’t get the Gucci reference. Most of the parts are used.

How is that handguard? Does it fit solid and so forth? I hadn't heard of the EZ-car before.

Edit: That's effectively the OMEGA rail no?

Interesting combo of quality parts. Their being used explains that.

It’s solid. The omega is just the freefloat version. I’ve had both and prefer this one because I feel that it’s got a more solid mount.

For a two piece, it locks up very solid and has 4 set screws to make sure it ain't moving. It mounts up just like a set of regular old carbean handguards.

I've got one sitting on the shelf that'll probably go to the EE. Nothing wrong with it I just don't use quad rails anymore.

For sure. I would just rather have the front of the rail that locks in too. The ez car has the 4 set screws as well. If I ever see another omega I’ll probably grab it. This was just a simple utilitarian build. This was my first try with a smooth rail and it came out well I thought. I want to say it ended up with kac flip up front sight but don’t remember.

The EZ CAR is the one I was referring to. I've never used the Omega.

DD's Omega rail is solid. I dig mine. I can sling up highpower tight and it won't budge

I tried the OMEGA briefly, but the I beam contour was unbearable. I liked everything else about the hand guard.

I was concerned about that but surprisingly adapted to it pretty well. I use ladder covers, which keep the bulk to a minimum, maybe that helps.

I tried running ladder on the bottom, and Chinese LaRue knock of clips on the side to make it feel like a normal hand guard, but still couldn't live with it. Back to KAC RAS for me.

Yep I'm running skinny CAR handguards on most of my rifles these days.

I have some kac covers I may put on. After a few mags she gets pretty warm. And believe it or not people look at you funny for wearing a glove while shooting.

Scored a killer deal on an optic that I couldn’t pass up on Election Day. Probably going to pick up a qd mount once I get some back up irons mounted.

To those of you with more knowledge on the subject, is the optic too far forward?

No, the Aimpoint location is fine.

My T-2 is in the same position, all the way forward on the upper receiver.

That’s what I figured. Still leaves you an open field of view. With it closer it was like trying to look through a scope again I felt like.

I love this build. All of the essentials, no Gucci bullshit. Not that there’s anything wrong with Gucci...it’s just bullshit.

I may go to a flip up rear buis just so the fixed isn’t always hovering right in my face. I know bobro makes one that folds down pretty flat. Got my prints and photo done for my dorm one last week so I can get moving on the suppressor.

Stripped her back down. The red dot was nice but I feel unnecessary, at least for what I use it for. Also ditched the light setup up front. Back to bare bones slick.
