On your Enfield, that's not a grenade sight, it's a volley sight. It's a somewhat unique find.

My circa 1942/1943 WWII Pacific theater, all Remington 1903A3. The receiver dates to @ late 1942. The barrel is a NOS 2-grove dated 12-43.
The scant stock is a refinished surplus piece accurate for the time and use, as is the WWI era helmet. The M1 bayonet & sheath are original from 1942.
The sling is a modern-made exact reproduction to an original unit even down to the original "MILSCO 1942" stamping.
The ammo belt is also a WWII US reproduction, as is the reprinted TM 9-1270 ordnance manual (though reprinted from a 1944 manual.)
Every other piece of this rifle is built from new in wrap, new old stock Remington parts dated from @1942/43 (WWII).

This setup would have been used from @ Dec. '41 through about mid-1943 across the Pacific theater with both the USMC as well as a number of US Navy shore-based units.
Beyond 1943, the M1903A3 was almost universally replaced by the M1 Garand, as was the WWI helmet by the US M1 helmet.
I lucked into a Mauser yesterday/last week.
Not a bad deal for buying my father-in-law a $170 shotgun.

This was my first hunting rifle, sporterized by my grandad. Last year I restored it to mil spec with SC parts and a C stock. I left the civilian sights on, it shoots very well with them.

This is the work done by grandad, he cut down the original stock and did the checkering.

A little different that what people think of, but it is an antique military bolt gun. According to the cartouches on the stock, this Remington 513-T was used by both the USMC, and the US Army over the course of it's lifetime as a trainer during the last 60 years or so...
Me NOT being a young trainee anymore, I'm not liking the target sights, so I'll be getting scope mounts put on it pretty soon. I will say that a .22 lr is pretty quiet out of a 27" barrel.
