Has anyone shot Barnes .308 150gr through a 16" Barrel

I'm getting ready to go hunting for the first time next season. The only rifle I have suitable for the task is my AR-10*. The big issue I have is that my rifle only has a 16" barrel and most ballistics data I've seen is out of a 24" test barrel (probably with an optimized twist rate.) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any data on this round out os a similar barrel? I'm looking for things like muzzle velocity and drop over certain distances. I know this will very from rifle to rifle, but I was hoping for some real world numbers that may be closer than what I found on the packaging.

It really depends on many things, IE The ammo. And you can guess a one to two hundred feet a second less than whats on the box. You will still be fine for hunting inside 500 yards for deer sized animals.

Sorry, I just realized that Barnes primarily makes bullets for reloading.

I’m looking at the Barnes VOR-TX .308 150gr.

I’m looking at hunting deer within 400yards, but was wondering if it may be possible to hunt elk one day too (I will probably end up with a longer barrel by that point if not a dedicated hunting rifle by then, but this is what I have and want to go hunting) I’m just wondering how adequate it is.

How does it group compared to a known standard like 168/175 FGMM?
