I'm thinking about getting a 9mm barrel for my WC tuned Colt Gov Model 38 Super. I think they used to call these EZ fit barrels.
1-Has anyone here used the barrel from the above link?
2-Was it easy to install yourself?
3-Did you need a gunsmith to finish reaming the chamber?
As much as I love shooting 38 Super, I don't always feel like picking up brass when there's snow on the ground.
The Xact/EZ fits are excellent barrels on guns that are in-spec (no wonky dimensions). They do need to be finished reamed. They take the most difficult part of the barrel fitting process, i.e. cutting and shaping the lower lugs, out of the equation. You fit the hood for width and length then file the fitting pads to get enough upper lug engagement, finish ream and your done. A oversize EGW angled bore bushing sized to fit your barrels muzzle diameter that you fit to the slide, is a great companion.
How did you finish ream yours?
With a manson reamer. It was a .45
I don't have any experience with 9mm.

I’ll add that in addition to Manson’s Finish Reamer a Throating Reamer is an asset.
While not mandatory, if you load longer than fairly standard COAL (I do in 9mm- a COAL of 1.150”+- with a JHP feeds like shit through a goose in 9mm) the Throating Reamer allows you to establish leade depth without sacrificing headspace- by finish reaming chamber too deeply.
Never fit the Kart Xact/EZ fits, but have done about a hundred or so of their gunsmith fit .45 barrels and every one needed finished reamed.......some more than others.
