Any idea on what this is?

For background, a co worker found this in a Combat Masterpiece box indicating it had been purchased at the Guam PX in the late 50's. We got that part figured out. :) the specifics not so much so. The longer of the 2 parts looks like an extended feed ramp, but do not see how that could be used to transfer the location or shape.
