Need a reputable smith that can cut and thread a barrelled action (rem 700). I want to keep the barrel that is on the rifle, just want to take 6" off of it and ensure the threads are concentric to the bore. I'm willing to drive a couple hours, KC, St Louis, Tulsa, etc.
Not where you located, but if you are close to Springfield theses could both be good options.

Cherokee is already out, dunno the other shop. I'm going to ask about it at 417guns and Eagle Armory this week.
417guns is who recommend S.R. tactical to me.
Mike Klos at Eagle Eye in Wentzville, MO (just outside of STL) is pretty well known in the NFA world and is regarded as a good machinist and gunsmith.
